Masonry Contractors of
New Jersey is a non-profit trade association representing
union masonry contractors, suppliers, manufacturers , architects, engineers and
other organizations that provide a service to the masonry
industry. Masonry Contractors of New Jersey is the only
Association in New Jersey that represents the specific,
unique interests of union masonry construction. Masonry
Contractors of New Jersey is the local, and the first, chapter
of the International Council of Employers of Bricklayers
and Allied Craftworkers (I.C.E.), the national voice for
the organized masonry industry. |
Some of our purposes and objectives include:
MAINTAIN the standards of the union masonry contracting
business and to establish members in the public mind as professionals
who fulfill obligations with consummate skill and in good faith.
FOSTER the continuing utilization of and expansion
of union masonry construction.
ENGAGE in collective bargaining with labor while
protecting the interests of our members.
EDUCATE owners, designers, contractors and craftworkers
engaging in masonry construction in more effective use of new materials,
techniques and services.
CORRECT discriminatory or unfair business methods
that affect the masonry industry.
ELIMINATE waste and reduce the cost of construction.
PROMOTE safety and accident prevention programs.
Under the current economic climate, it is becoming increasingly
important that we join together to help ensure a solid future for
the union masonry contractor. Help us build New Jersey better,
while we build our reputation in the industry as the
Association for masonry experts.
Membership consists of "Contractors", "Associates", "Architects/Engineers" categories
as follows:
"Contractors" membership is granted to
those who are engaged in masonry construction or employ masons or
laborers either as their principal trade or as a subcontractor.
A contractor member is signatory to collective bargaining agreements
with the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers
and the Laborers International Union of North America because our
Association negotiates these agreements on behalf of our members.
"Associates" membership is granted to
those who are material suppliers, manufacturers, or any other professional
group that provides a service to our industry.
ARCHITECTS/ENGINEERS CATEGORIES:
"Professional" membership is for a licensed or registered architect or engineer, or for an individual that is a member of a faculty at an accredited university.
"Affiliate" membership is for an architectural or engineering firm representing multiple licensed or registered architects or engineers. |
